Accra Hearts of Oak travel to Bibiani to play Gold Stars on Match Day 12 of the Ghana Premier League at DUN’S Park on Saturday.

The Phobians come into the game fresh from a disappointing 0-0 stalemate against Bechem United at the Accra Sports stadium – a result that infuriated their fans as they continued to call for the head of some key figures in management.

The Champions are without goalkeeper Richard Atta – who is on International duty with the Black Stars at the Africa Cup of Nations. Also missing is Richmond Ayi who is sidelined for some days after suffering a groin on Sunday against Bechem United.

Hearts of Oak are in 9th place with 14 points with two games in hand – but their performance this season has been nothing but uninspiring following a lackluster start to the campaign and a topsy-turvy campaign thus far.  They began the season with three straight draws before losing 2-0 to AshantiGold at the Len Clay stadium on November 21, 2021. But wins against Accra Lions, Elmina Sharks and Berekum Chelsea seem to have propelled them until they were held by Dreams FC (2-2) and Bechem United (0-0).

They head to Bibiani to play against a side who have lost only once in five home attempts – a 1-0 loss to Asante Kotoko in November.

Charles Kamara Gyamfi, Prince Owusu Kwabena, Michael Enu, Nuhu Sulley and Nicholas Osei Bonsu have been immense for Coach Michael Osei’s side in their quest to retain their Premier League status.

Accra Hearts of Oak have won only one game on the road – a 1-0 win against Elmina Sharks on December 15, 2021 – with the other three ending in one defeat and two draws.

The match is live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at DUN’S Park.

Still on Saturday, Accra Lions will take on WAFA at the Accra Sports stadium.  Three points separate the two sides with Accra Lions occupying the 10th spot with 14 points – three ahead of WAFA who are in 15th place with 11 points.

Both teams have huffed and puffed all season but Accra Lions will start as favourites due to their strong home performance especially as they return to the Accra sports stadium.
