Kumasi Asante Kotoko were handed a reality check by Great Olympics in their outstanding match day 3 clash played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Great Olympics defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko by a lone goal.

It was a listless, uninspiring performance from Ghana’s sole representative in the CAF Champions League.

Olympics was the better side for much of the first half but could not take the numerous chances that came their way .

Gladson Awako was unplayable on the day as the veteran midfielder dazzled for Olympics and was a constant threat  to the Kotoko defence.

The Kotoko team looked liked a bunch of strangers and could barely string passes together nor create any decent opportunities.

Coach Annor Walker’s side started the second just as they ended the first.

All the good chances in the game was created by Great Olympics with Gladson Awako in the thick of affairs.

It was no surprise Great Olympics converted one such chance after Awako played in Michael Yeboah to slot home.

Kotoko pressed for the equaliser with the best chance falling to Emmanuel Gyamfi after a free kick was parried into his path but he shot wide.

Kotoko paid for the under par performance and were duly punished by a resurgent Great Olympics side.
