Ghanaian sound engineer and afrobeat artiste Guilty Beatz's new single 'Akwaaba' has been trending at number one on Apple music for over two weeks after its release.

Guilty Beatz told Class Drive host Prince Benjamin on Class 91.3FM on 22 March he is excited about the track’s performance.

"Excitement, I'm just happy about the fact that the song was able to get to where it is right now. I know it's like, it’s hard, like the beat is strong and all that but I didn't think it will get this far. ...It was at number 6, and it went to number 1."

In a separate interview with ClassFMonline.com, Guilty Beatz revealed that the song is currently at number one and has been at number one for over two weeks. Before becoming Apple music's #1 song, it had been Drake's 'God's Plan', Wizkid's 'Soco' & Kwesi Arthur's 'Anthem' that were trending.

'Akwaaba', which features Mr. Eazi, Pappy Kojo and Patapaa, was also played during an NBA half-time in America on Saturday, 24 March.

Guilty Beatz, whose real name is Ronald Banful, is known for producing songs like Mr. Eazi's 'Sample You,' Chase’s 'Tell Me Your Name', Jesse Jagz & Wizkid’s 'Bad Girl' and Efya’s 'Getaway.'
