Heart of Lions defender Atta Kusi has commended his coach, Bashir Hayford, for his outstanding leadership in helping the club avoid relegation at the end of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.

Hayford, who took over the reins from Fatawu Salifu, delivered a remarkable performance, ensuring that the Lions retained their top-flight status.

Despite facing a challenging campaign upon their return to the Ghana Premier League, the team managed to secure their survival by finishing 15th.

Their crucial final position was cemented with a 2-2 draw against Berekum Chelsea in the season's last match.

In an interview with Kessben FM, the former Kotoko right-back lauded the experienced coach for his significant role in the club's survival.

"Everyone knows Bashir Hayford is one of the best. In terms of coaching and experience, he is on top. He is a fantastic coach," Kusi stated.

Looking ahead, Heart of Lions is determined to improve their performance in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

The club is actively engaged in the transfer market, seeking quality players to strengthen their squad for the 2024/25 campaign.
