Hearts of Oak  appointing Yaw Preko   as the substantive  manager  of the club "will not be a bad idea", says club's board member Mr Frank Nelson.
He thinks the former national star has what it takes to lead the floundering  former African champions  in their bid  to win the  league for the first time in 7 years, a task that still looks daunting.

"It will not be a bad idea if management  should  confirm Yaw as the head coach, I am ready to give him all the backing , in fact he is one of the finest we have", he said.

"He is the son of the soil, a product of Hearts of Oak, he has the experience and  qualifications like some other local coaches have and also understands the terrain so well to lead the team.

"I feel he can do it should we appoint him and with our support, morally and financially, he can carry the ckub to higher heights.I personally do not have problem with Yaw taken over the mantle."

Hearts of oak are  in the market once again aiming to fine a suitable  replacement to the Japanese-American Kenechi who parted ways with the 'Continental Club Masters' over some misunderstandings

After Kenichi's exit, Hearts of oak brought in Sergio Tranguil to take over but was soon asked to retake over the  junior team for which he was appointed, after series of unfavorable results under his leadership.

As a temporary measure and to restore some stability,Assistant Yaw Preko was then asked to be at the helm with three matches to the end of  the league, claiming the 3rd position behind Wa All Stars and Eduana.

The former  Hearts winger, who tormented defenders with his pace in his playing days back in the '90s , rejoined his mother club as an  assistant coach in a 2 years contract.

"Yaw has just seen the first year of his contract and is still has a year left.

"I cant say categorically if he will be the head coach but I know him and i believe he can do the job when giving the nod, Frank Nelson reiterated."
