Ghana Premier League powerhouse Hearts of Oak is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Swedish coach Tom Strand to take over the managerial role recently vacated by Martin Koopman.

Koopman, who took charge at the beginning of the season with the mission to revitalize the team's performance, parted ways with Hearts of Oak after falling short of the club's expectations.

Sources suggest that Hearts of Oak's management is on the verge of reaching an agreement with Strand, who has previously managed the club's city rivals, Great Olympics, and enjoyed a successful stint at Medeama.

Currently residing in Sweden, Strand is expected to make the move if the ongoing negotiations prove successful.

The Phobians, currently holding the sixth position in the league with 16 points, have been without a permanent coach since Koopman's departure.

Interim coach Abdul Bashiru has been in charge during this transitional period.

Hearts of Oak is gearing up to face Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in their upcoming fixture, as they look to solidify their position in the league under potential new leadership.
