Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak have officially written to Accra Great Olympics to request the services of midfielder Gladson Awako.

It comes days after rumours went rife that the former TP Mezembe Star had already signed for the Phobians.

In a letter signed by the Club's Chief  Administrative Manager, Okoe Djane, the Phobians wrote to "express interest" in Awako, who had equally shown readiness to donn the Rainbow jersey.

"We wish to express our interest in the aforementioned player and also to for his availability for transfer," the letter read.

"We counting on your cooperation as we wait for your response."

Awako has been a prime target for the reigning Ghana Premier league champions as they seek to bolster their squad for the next season’s CAF Champions League campaign.

The 31-year old will have his contract with Great Olympics expiring in October this year after signing a year deal last year as a free agent.

Awako shone in the league with seven goals and assisted six in as many games and was awarded man of the match four times plus two player of the month awards.

His inclusion is expected to strengthen the Hearts of Oak midfield that comprise of Benjamin Afutu, Emmanuel Nettey, Frederick Ansah Botchway and host of others.
