Hearts of Oak eased their relegation worries with a vital 2-0 win over Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League on Friday evening.

The triumph at the Accra Sports Stadium saw the Phobians open a five-point cushion above the drop zone.

The match started perfectly for Hearts of Oak, with the club's top scorer Hamza Issah finding the net in the 7th minute.

Issah connected beautifully with a cross from left-back Dennis Nkrumah Korsah to give his side an early lead.

Just seven minutes later, Ivorian Kassim Cisse doubled Hearts' advantage. Cisse capitalized on a well-placed pass from Congolese midfielder Linda Mtange, scoring in the 14th minute to put the Phobians firmly in control.

With this victory, Hearts of Oak have climbed to 11th place on the league table, bringing renewed optimism for their final two Premier League matches.

The win provides a significant morale boost as the team looks to ensure their top-flight status for next season.

For Nations FC, the defeat is a major setback in their title challenge.

They now trail league leaders FC Samartex 1996 by seven points with only two games remaining, effectively ending their hopes of securing the Premier League title this season.
