Combative midfielder Benjamin Afutu Kotey has been included in Hearts of Oak's list to africa contrary to public rumours.

A list of 36 players sent to CAF sighted by Ghanaguardian.com has the number 8 shirted man clearly included for the 2021/22 CAF battle.

Afutu's contract with Hearts has expired but a move by the Phobians to get it stay  in Accra remains in limbo amid rumours that he is on his way out of the country.

He played a vital role in Coach Samuel Boadu's treble winning team.

Talks are still ongoing between management and the player who joined Hearts of Oak from Karela.

Afutu joined the Phobians in 2017/18 season and has since become an iconic figure, with 2020/21 season being his best in the rainbow colours.

The 25-year-old made 29 appearances for the Phobians in the Ghanaian top-flight and scored five times in the process.
