Ghana Premier League champions Accra Hearts of Oak have submitted a 30-man list to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ahead of the competition which starts in September.

The phobians like any other team in the competition needed to submit their list by Sunday 15th August,2021.

Conspicuously missing from the 30 man list is all action midfielder Benjamin Afutu who failed to agree a contract extension with the club and is now a free agent.

There was also no place for youngster Manaf Umar as our sources suggest he had issues with his passport which was not rectified in time.

The one-time champions of Africa will face Guinean side Cl Kamsar in the preliminary stage of the championship.

Hearts will first travel to Guinea for the first league tie which is scheduled to take place between  10-12 September 2021 in Conakry before the second leg in Accra on 17-19 September.

The phobinas will meet a familiar face in the CI Kamsar team as former Asante Kotoko captain who played for Techiman Eleven Wonders in the just ended season, Amos Frimpong has sealed a move to the Guinean side.

Hearts of Oak last played in African inter club competition in 2015 where they were eliminated by Tunisian giants Esperance.

A daunting task awaits the winner of the tie between Hearts and Kamsar as they will  face Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club in the first round in October.

The winner of the first round tie advances to the group stage of the competition which starts in February 2022.

The list includes comprises 4 goalkeepers, 9 defenders, 8 midfielders and 9 strikers making it 30 players.

The phobians included  two players from their junior team Auroras namely Issah Kakuh and Razak Ali.
