Zak Rahman, the New Patriotic Party's parliamentary candidate for Ayawaso East Constituency, has commended the Muslim members of the Ghana National Fire Service for their unwavering dedication to both their faith and duties serving the nation.

Rahman expressed his admiration while chairing a special Iftar fast-breaking banquet organized by the Fire Service on Wednesday evening to honor its Muslim personnel observing the holy month of Ramadan.

"The dedication you show to upholding your religious beliefs while discharging your critical duties is truly commendable," Rahaman stated during his address at the event held at the Service's headquarters in Accra.

Highlighting the vital role played by firefighters, the NPP candidate said, "The nation relies on your bravery and expertise to protect lives and property, and we are indebted to your selfless service."

He hailed them for their ability to balance their spiritual obligations during Ramadan with the demands of their profession, which often requires them to put their lives on the line in emergency situations.

"In this sacred month, let the spirit of togetherness and devotion bind you all as you fulfil your spiritual obligations," he remarked, encouraging unity among the Service's personnel of diverse faiths.

The Iftar banquet, attended by several high-profile guests, including Hon. Ben Abdallah Banda, who represented Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, provided an opportunity for the Ghana Fire Service to host a ceremonial fast-breaking for its Muslim members.

Some members of the service who are not muslims also joined the special fast-breaking ceremony, creating a moment of interfaith unity.

Rahman expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Fire Service for organising the event, which he described as a celebration of the country's rich cultural tapestry and a testament to the institution's commitment to fostering an inclusive environment that respects religious diversity.

Ramadan is in its final 10 days, and as Muslims continue to navigate the holy month, events like this Iftar banquet have become a platform of promoting religious tolerance and mutual understanding in promoting societal harmony.
