The English Premier League is just five games away before the 2017/18 season comes to a close. This season has been particularly a good one for Africa as Egyptian, Mo Salah has set alight the EPL with his goal scoring exploits.

Not to be outdone are our own Ghanaian stars who keep performing at the top level namely the Ayew brothers, Jeffery Schlupp and Christian Atsu.

For the first time in some years now, there is only a handful of Ghanaian players playing in the EPL but for those fans who have been following transfer news and rumours online including sportsbooks such as NetBet Casino, they know that the upcoming season i.e. 2018/19 season may just see a rise in Ghanaian players as the likes of Afriyie Acquah,  Agyemang Badu, and Majeed Waris are linked with moves to the EPL.

Jordan Ayew (Swansea City)

The Swansea attacker has been arguably the best Ghanaian in the Premier League this season. His season did not start off well as his team badly suffered by damaging defeats that ultimately led to the sacking of the manager, Paul Clement in December.Ever since the departure of Clement and the arrival of the philosophical manager, Carlos Carvahal, Swansea’s performances have greatly improved including that of Jordan Ayew. Jordan has reclaimed his starting spot berth ever since the time Carvahal took charge and is currently the team’s leading scorer with 11 goals and 3 assists.

Andre Ayew (West Ham and Swansea City)

Just like his brother, Andre’s season did not start on the right note as he continuously suffered some niggling injuries that kept him on the sidelines for much of the first half of the season. With his parent club running out of patience, Andre was given another opportunity to shine in the Premier League by his former team, Swansea City when they signed him for 18 million pounds on transfer deadline day. The move proved to be the right one for both Andre and the club. Andre has been a revelation for Swansea since his move, helping the team move away from the relegation zone with just a few more matches to go. He has also chipped in with a couple of goals and some crucial assists.

Jeffrey Schlupp (Crystal Palace)

Jeffrey Schulpp’s decision to move from Leicester City to Crystal Palace looked to be a terrible one when his team started the season terribly failing to win nor score a solitary goal in the first 7 matches. However, things have been on the up since then as safety is all but guaranteed now with a few games left to play. Helping his team to rise from the ashes has been Ghanaian Jeffrey Schulpp largely deployed as a fullback by his manager, Roy Hodgson. Schulpp has featured on 25 occasions for his team this season with 22 of those appearances coming in the Premier League.

Christian Atsu (Newcastle)

While the Ayew brothers started off the season badly and recovered as the season went on, the exact opposite is happening to Christian Atsu. Atsu was one of the first names on the team sheet at the start of the season and he repaid his manager with some good performances early on. However, things have not gone according to plan especially after the arrival of the Brazilian, Kennedy on loan from Chelsea. Kennedy’s brilliant performances for the Magpies at the expense of Christian Atsu means Atsu has to spend the rest of the season watching from the bench.
