Championship club Hull City has submitted a £2.5 million bid for West Bromwich Albion striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, according to Sky Sports.

Both clubs are eager to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season after narrowly missing out on promotion last year.

Hull City, which finished 7th in the Championship, just missed the play-offs, leading to the departure of manager Liam Rosenior, who has since joined RC Strasbourg.

West Brom, meanwhile, reached the play-offs but were eliminated early by Southampton, who eventually won the competition.

Thomas-Asante, a crucial player for West Brom, has garnered interest from several clubs. The details of West Brom's response to Hull City's bid remain unclear, but the 25-year-old striker is in high demand.

The Black Stars forward joined West Brom from Salford City in August 2022 on a three-year deal and has one year remaining on his contract.

He has scored 18 goals and provided two assists in 72 league appearances for the Baggies.

Hull City's move for Thomas-Asante underscores their ambition to bolster their squad as they aim for promotion in the upcoming season.
