Contrary to previous reports, Elder Joshua Obinim, the husband of the Ghanaian woman involved in a stabbing incident with their son in the United Kingdom, is alive.

Initial reports by this portal indicated that Alberta Obinim, a 43-year-old Ghanaian woman, and her 64-year-old husband, Elder Joshua, had tragically passed away after being stabbed by their 22-year-old son. This information was shared by the Ghanaian community in the UK.

The attack took place late on Sunday, August 18, 2024, at their residence on Barnard Road in Gorton, resulting in the parents sustaining life-threatening injuries. Their 17-year-old daughter was also critically injured in the incident.

The son, whose identity has not been disclosed, allegedly carried out the attack with a knife around 11:20 p.m. The parents were immediately taken to the hospital for urgent medical attention, while their daughter remains in critical condition.

The son was apprehended at the scene and is currently in police custody, facing murder charges.
