Ghanaian midfielder Alfred Duncan has officially joined Venezia FC, expressing his enthusiasm for the club's vision and ambitions.

The 31-year-old has signed a contract extending until the end of the 2025/2026 season, with an option for renewal.

Duncan explained his decision in an interview with Venezia's media team: "I chose to come to Venezia FC because of the project that was presented to me by the club and the coach, and I am really proud to be part of it."

He also highlighted the unique atmosphere at the club's home ground, the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo: "In past years, I have seen how challenging it is to play at the Penzo due to the passionate energy of the fans.

That’s why I ask all of them to support us always, as we will give everything to achieve our goals."

Duncan, a product of Inter Milan's youth academy, brings extensive Serie A experience to Venezia.

Over his career, he has made 304 appearances, scored 14 goals, and provided 17 assists, playing for clubs such as Livorno, Sampdoria, Sassuolo, Cagliari, and most recently, Fiorentina.

Internationally, Duncan has earned 10 caps for the Ghana national team and has competed in both the Conference League and Europa League qualifiers and finals.

His wealth of experience is expected to be a significant asset for Venezia as they prepare for the upcoming Serie A season.

Duncan joins Venezia after his contract with Fiorentina expired. In his final season with Fiorentina, he made 41 appearances, contributing two goals and five assists.

His arrival at Venezia is anticipated to bolster the club's midfield, enhancing their prospects for a successful campaign.

With Duncan now on board, Venezia FC looks forward to leveraging his skills and experience as they aim to make a significant impact in the Serie A this season.
