Veteran Great Olympics coach, Annor Walker has thrown his hat into the vacant Black Stars coaching job as he says he can deliver when handed the opportunity.

Ghana is without a coach despite appointing Milovan Rajevac for a second spell in September 2021 as he has been sacked after leading a disastrous performance at the ongoing AFCON in Cameroon.

The Black Stars exited the  tournament  at the group stage as  they finished bottom of a group which had Comoros, Morocco and Gabon.

Annor Walker who currently is the head coach of the Black Stars B says he wants to be elevated a step further as he can deliver for Ghana.

“Why not? If I’m given the chance, I don’t think it is bad. It is left with me to do a good job,” Walker told AshesGyamera.com in an interview.

“Are the foreign players the only ones that can play for the national team? We have local players who are equally good. You saw Kotoko players just like Olympics players, Medeama have players so we have players who can also play the national team.

“So it is left us and the FA to decide who should play the national team. That is right [as more local players should be given the opportunity to represent Ghana]. I think it will also help so to me that is how I see it,” he added.

Former Brighton, Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton and Dortmund's Assistant coach Otto Addo have been linked to the job.
