Former Ghana goalkeeper Richard Olele Kingson says he is always at pains his failure to help Ghana win an AFCON title.

The Black Stars have not won the African Cup of Nations since last winning it in 1982 in Libya and have tried in vain to win the elusive title.

Ghana has gone very close to ending the hoodoo on three separate occasions in 1992 , 2010 when Richard Kingson was in post and in 2015.

According the former West Ham , Wigan goalkeeper he did all within his powers both physically and spiritually to win the AFCON title but to no avail.

“I did all I could so we can win a trophy, but unfortunately we could not," the former Great Olympics goalkeeper told Asempa FM.

"I feel disappointed the team didn’t win the Afcon title,” he added.

Richard Kingson was part of the so called golden generation that qualified for the World Cup for the first time in Germany in 2006 and was also part of the South Africa 2010 squad that reached the quarter finals against Uruguay.
