A prominent member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Paul Boateng has made a bold prediction about the outcome of the 2024 general elections.

Speaking in an interview, Boateng claimed he foresees Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia securing 50.6% of the votes in the presidential election.

Boateng, known for his outspoken nature, explained that his forecast is based on the Vice President's growing popularity and the momentum of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) campaign. "Dr. Bawumia has strategically positioned himself as a unifier and a candidate for all. If he continues on this trajectory, 50.6% is within reach," Boateng remarked.

However, the NDC stalwart also cautioned against complacency within the NPP, emphasizing that elections are unpredictable and dynamic. “Elections are not won on predictions but on hard work and strategy. The NPP must not underestimate the resilience of John Mahama and the NDC machinery,” he added.

Boateng’s statement has sparked mixed reactions within political circles, with some praising his objectivity and others questioning his allegiance.

The NPP, on the other hand, has welcomed his remarks as a reflection of Dr. Bawumia’s appeal to a broader section of Ghanaians.

As the race heats up, the 2024 elections are shaping up to be one of Ghana’s most competitive contests yet.

Whether Paul Boateng’s prediction comes to fruition remains to be seen, but it has undoubtedly added a layer of intrigue to the political discourse.
