Former Hearts of Oak midfielder, Kofi Abanga was destined for big things coming up as a young talent midfielder from Aduana Stars.

After a tussle between Kotoko and Hearts about his signature in 2007, the prodigious talent at the time joined Accra Hearts of Oak.

His Hearts career was bedeviled with persistent injuries which curtailed his progress as he failed to live up to the hype.

Speaking to Koforidua based Bryt FM, Kofi Abanga is ruining the fact that he never played for any top team in the top five European leagues saying that injuries was his undoing.

“I had the dream of playing for a top European club before retirement but it didn’t happen because of recurring injuries. I had the chance to play for a second division club in China but that wasn’t my aim because China is not a football country”

“At the beginning of my career, I dreamt of playing in any of the five major European leagues but injuries derailed my plans”

Abanga spent seven years with the Phobians, winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2008/2009 season, GHALCA Top 4 twice, the Homowo Cup and the President’s Cup.
