The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale North, Alhassan Suhuyini, has argued that President Akufo-Addo will only impress Ghanaians with his speech when he delivers the State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Thursday, February 21, 2019.

According to a report by 3news.com, Suhuyini added that he does not expect anything unique from the president, even though there are economic and security matters to be addressed.

“I’m tired of listening to our president; he talks a lot, makes impressive statement but does so little. I have lost confidence in him,” Suhuyini said.

The lawmaker further stated that President Akufo-Addo has not shown enough commitment with regard to addressing issues of political militia.

On that score, he believes the president can correct the anomaly by dealing with security issues involving members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Suhuyini’s comments however did not go down well with the MP for Sekondi, Kofi Egyapa Mercer, who countered by saying that the president is under no obligation to meet Suhuyini’s expectations.

He went on to say he is optimistic President Akufo-Addo would roll out a comprehensive plan on how to deal with security issues in Ghana.
