Investigative Journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni has revealed refused an offer to serve as a communicator of the National Democratic Congress(NDC) during the regime of the erstwhile Mills administration.

According to the multimedia journalist, his critical views of the then Kufuor administration won him admiration from the NDC.

“I started writing when I was in Journalism school and you can ask people like Stan Dogbey, he was the first person to invite me to the Castle at the time President Mills was in power. During President Kufuor’s last days in power and NDC’s early days in power, I was the darling boy of the NDC party, I was liked by many big wigs and members. I was even asked to join the NDC party communications team because some of the members thought I could write for the party, but I said no I had to do my journalism work professionally. So that when they do wrong I can write against them. The NDC started do wrong while in power and I starting criticizing them in my writing and so they thought I was against them,” he said on Okay FM.

Mr. Awuni added:“Today the NPP is in power and as a professional journalist I should do my work objectively irrespective of who is in government. I can say ex-President Mahama was my friend when he was in power that’s what people didn’t know. I could go to his house for a chat, but when I have to do a story I don’t look at who is in power or not.”
