The Dutch born of Ghanaian descent Jeremie Frimpong says he wants to win the hearts of Celtic fans following his dazzling display in his only senior match this season against Ross County where they won 6 nil.

Frimpong made his debut in the Scottish league in their 6 nil drubbing of Ross County where he provided an assist on the while wowing the Celtic fans.

The 18 year old who joined Celtic from Man City in the summer will miss Celtic’s home clash with Lazio on Thursday because he is not registered for Europa League games, has set his sights on repaying the fans for the warm welcome he has received.

Frimpong said in an interview with fourfourtwo.com: “I’m going to keep working hard, keep making the fans proud, my team-mates proud and the manager proud. That’s all I want to do.

“The fans are great and they’re really great to me.”

Frimpong has been full of praise for the impact his manager  Neil Lennon has had on him in his short time at the club, revealing the manager has helped him make improvements to his crossing.
