Hearts of Oak defender Larry Sumaila has expressed his disappointment with the way and manner he was let go by the club.

He says he was told by a friend that he has been cut loose by the capital-based club instead of an official letter from the club.

On Tuesday 26th July 2022, the club decided to release six players including Larry Sumaila.

Others who were let go include Frederick Ansah Bocthway, William Dankyi, Manaf Umar, Kofi Kordzi, and Patrick Razak.

In an interview with Koforidua-based Bryt FM, the right back says that he is unhappy with how his release was communicated by the club as  he has not been informed prior to his release

“At the moment, I have not received any official letter from the club but I’m sure I am going to get it. My exit from the club is a worry because I have Hearts of Oak at heart”

“To be honest, I was shocked when a friend informed me about my release because I didn’t know the club has taken such a decision. I believe it is part of life so I have accepted it in good faith” he said.
