Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that he will work day and night to ensure his victory come 2020.

In a Facebook post, the the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer aspirant has assured the party faithfuls that he will strive to ensure the NDC gets back to power.

He added that the party under his governance in 2020 will tackle the problem of unemployment headlong.

He stated, “When you vote for John Mahama, I will fight hard and work day and night with you to ensure our victory and address the problems of unemployment and the high cost of living in the country”.

He added that he is in the best position to remove the stress of distress from the youth.

He added,“Together we will present to our countrymen and women a renewed and reinvigorated NDC, a party ready and able to lead Ghana beyond the unprecedented economic hardships of the present day, beyond the rising unemployment and despair of our youth, beyond the closure and collapse of financial institutions and businesses, beyond the dishonesty and nonchalance of the current administration, and beyond the family and clan syndrome that has rightly shocked and outraged so many”.

The former President will be running for primaries on Saturday  February 23 2019 with other aspirants.

Among them are Spio Gabrah, Joshua Alabi, Alban Bagbin, Goosie Tanoh, Sylvester Mensah and Nurudeen Iddrisu.

The former President is however being dragged to court by one Stephen Agyemang saying the legitimacy of him seeking re-election violates the provision in the 1992 constitution.

Mr. Agyeman said that John Mahama “cannot purport to seek re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana” pursuant to Articles 68 clauses 2 to 9 of the Constitution.
