National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Nhiayeso Constituency in the Ashanti region Dr Samuel Sarpong is optimistic of winning the seat for the first time since 1996 for his party.

He observes that the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP’s) failure to retain the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area Dr Richard Winfred Anane he described as a hardworking person, will further smoothen his path to victory.

“Why will they remove a person Dr Anane at the primary and bring someone like Kennedy Kankam. I can assure you that I will win the seat by 70% mark my words”, he told Kwame Adinkra on Abusua Nkomo.

The Former Ashanti Regional Minister revealed that he has worked hard and the results on December 7 will speak to his hard work reiterating that residents of the area are confident and will mandate him to be their lawmaker.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the State Housing Cooperation, because of his background as someone who is development oriented residents continue to freely offer him support in all his outreach programs.

This, he pointed to gives him the firm assurance that the seat is his for the taking to restore dignity to the community popularly referred as an elite constituency.

Dr Sarpong said ‘the attraction comes naturally if people find you to be action-oriented. When people read your history and take account of your background as someone who works with youth they would naturally come to you’’, the former regional minister posited.

He stressed his belief in the youth, adding his campaign had strategically targeted them to ensure the constituency realizes the development it so desires.
