Ghanaian attacker Ibrahim Sadiq made an immediate impact in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring his first goal of the season to lead AZ Alkmaar to a 1-0 win against Almere City FC on Saturday evening.

The match at Yanmar Stadion saw AZ Alkmaar dominate possession and create numerous opportunities.

Sadiq's decisive contribution came early, in the 4th minute, when he scored with a right-footed shot from the center of the box following a swift counterattack.

Although Sadiq was substituted in the 57th minute by Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Ernest Poku, his early goal proved crucial for securing the victory.

The game was marked by disciplinary issues, with AZ Alkmaar’s Maxim Dekker receiving a red card in the 18th minute.

Almere City FC faced their own challenges, as Baptiste Guillaume and Ricardo Visus were sent off in the 34th and 79th minutes, respectively.

AZ Alkmaar will look to build on this win as they prepare for their next Eredivisie fixture against NEC Nijmegen on August 17th.
