Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright says that he will love to see red hot striker Eddie Nketiah remain at the club beyond this season.

The Ghana target has been in fine form for the North London club recently scoring a brace  against Chelsea and another brace against  Leeds United as the gunners push  for  a champions league return.

Nketiah's contract at the club expires in the summer and despite several offers from the club, the 22  year old has  not signed the dotted lines.

The English-born  Ghanaian player is not convinced he will be afforded the regular playing  time that he so craves for at Arsenal.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, he said: "It's a great dilemma for him. I listened to him on the Beautiful Game podcast and he’s saying I’ve not had a run, I’ve not even had three games on the spin.

"If I can get three games in a row and I’m not doing it then I totally understand people saying I’m not ready, but he says just give me a run of games. If he can continue to score goals that are going to fire Arsenal into fourth then you have to say to yourself if he did leave Arsenal, he’s going to be playing Champions League. If he did leave Arsenal where’s he going that he’s going to be playing Champions League? He’s in a great position to stay. I’d love him to stay."

Nketiah has now scored four goals in the English Premier League this season in 18 matches whiles he scored 5 goals in 5 matches in the Carabao Cup this season.

He has  been pursued by Crystal Palace for a while and even had an offer for the young striker turned down by Arsenal during the January transfer window.

While clubs outside England have also been alerted about the player's availability.
