Ghanaian midfielder Iddrisu Baba played the entire duration of the game as his side RCD Mallorca defeated Espanyol at the Visit Mallorca Estadi on Friday night.

The home side started the game in dominant fashion and their good start paid off  when they took the lead.

Iddrisu Baba was very integral as his side went into the half time break with a solitary goal lead in the Spanish La Liga game.

He made 3 tackles, 1 clearance won 9 duels while also making 28 passes and won 2 fouls for his side in their 1-0 win

In a match between promoted clubs, Mallorca beat Espanyol 1-0 for its second win in a row, with Japan forward Takefusa Kubo played well from the start for the hosts.

Kubo returned to Mallorca on loan from Real Madrid after playing with Getafe last season.

Dani Rodríguez scored the winner in the 27th after Espanyol defenders failed to clear the ball inside the area.

Espanyol, coming off two consecutive 0-0 draws, had defender Sergi Gómez sent off in injury time after a foul to stop a breakaway.

Mallorca was held to a 1-1 draw against Real Betis in its opener at home.
Iddrisu Baba has been handed a call up by Black Stars coach C.K Akonnor ahead of the 2022 World Cup qualifier against South Africa and Ethiopia.
