Former Asante Kotoko defender Samuel Inkoom has revealed that he held talks with Kumasi Asante Kotoko about playing for the club but the deal did not materialize.

The 32 year old says that he is willing to play for the club once again if even for free before he finally calls time on his career.

Inkoom who played for Kotoko before beginning his sojourn with FC Basel from the 2008/2009 is ready for a comeback due to his love for the club.

Ahead of the start of the 2020/2021 season there were media reports that the club was in talks with the former Black Stars defender but it never worked out.

The player in an interview with Angel TV, confirmed that there was talks between himself and the CEO of Kotoko but he did not hear from hi again but wishes to play for the club before he calls time on his career.

"It’s true Kotoko wanted to sign me last season, they sent me first offer, I said no, they sent second and third offer, I said no. We were talking but later on I saw that the money is not there."

“I told them Kotoko gave me the platform and I am ready to come and help. So when Nana Yaw Amponsah approached me we spoke a lot about me coming back and I didn’t say no because I was willing to come back."

“But all of a sudden I don’t know what happened and I will not blame him but in football everything can happen, I’m a fan of Kotoko and before I will even retire from football I will come and play for Kotoko even for nothing I don’t mind." he concluded

The former Kotoko defender currently plays with Georgian topflight outfit FC Torpedo Kutaisi and the 2009 World Youth Championship winner has played for more than a dozen club in his career.

The former Black Stars player has in the past played for Basel, Dnipro, Dunav, DC United, Antalyaspor and Samtredia among others.
