Mr Ibrahim Adjei, an Assistant to the President’s Executive Secretary at the Flagstaff House, has said he is enjoying being trolled on social media by members of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) vis-à-vis his portfolio.
Mr Adjei was the toast of Facebook users on Thursday after it emerged that he was serving as Secretary to the President’s Executive Secretary.
Explaining what his job entails, he told Accra-based Starr FM on Friday that: “Imagine an office environment whereby you have to attend and provide support services across the whole strata of making an office efficient at the administrative level and its functions. And that’s some of the things that I do.”
In his view, it is no ‘job for the boys’.
“I mean you have Raymond Atuguba there. What was Raymond Atuguba? The assistants that were helping Raymond during his time – and he was Executive Secretary to President John Dramani Mahama, the former – so his assistants, those who were helping him fulfil his role to provide the secretarial services in the widest breadth of that meaning, is exactly what I’m doing as well,” he said.
On a personal level, Mr Adjei said, “I’m enjoying the Facebooking that’s going on, why not? I don’t crave the spotlight but I like it when it’s there. Because I do my politics in a way in which you won’t see me.”
