German born Ghanaian defender Jan Gyamerah can be described as unlucky.

After only six competitive games for Hamburger SV last season, the 25-year-old broke his fibula in training and was out for almost 40 weeks.

At the end of the season, then coach Dieter Hecking changed Gyamerah from time to time, the defensive man was on the right track.

In preparation, however, there was another setback, a thigh injury prevented him from taking full advantage of the training camp and from doing self-promotion.

Almost exactly a year after the fracture of the fibula, the HSV man whose lucky seemed mangled  is now back on the road.

Gyamerah will return to team training this Wednesday and coach Daniel Thioune will be happy to be able to rely on the right-back again after Josha Vagnoman, Khaled Narey and Aaron Opoku occupied the position in the friendly matches.
