Instagram is giving users more control over push notifications with a new universal button. Called “Pause All” this feature essentially works like WhatsApp’s mute feature.
Pause All feature is currently available on Instagram beta for Android and iOS. There is no word on when this feature will be rolled out for all users on Instagram. Users can still try it out by joining Instagram beta programme through Play Store and App Store.
This feature can be found in the Settings menu under Notifications. It comes with a toggle on/off button and time durations to mute notifications. Users can choose between 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, 4 hours and 8 hours. Unlike WhatsApp’s mute feature, Instagram doesn’t allow users to mute notifications for one year.

Instagram users will not receive push notifications, but they can view them once they open the app. The photo sharing app allows users to manually mute notifications for different categories. Users can mute notifications for likes on posts, likes and comments on photos of you, comments, comment likes and more. It also gives users the option to mute notifications from audiences like people they follow or from everyone.
