Members of vigilante group affiliated with the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Invisible Forces in the Lower Manya Krobo Constituency of the Eastern Region have expressed their anger over failure by the government to fulfill promises made to them.

According to the twenty- five(25) member group they were recruited into the defunct group by the party to carry out security activities during the 2016 election with promise of giving them jobs when the party wins power, however they have been neglected outright by the party.

Addressing the media at Odumase Krobo Tuesday, Leader of the group, Tetteh Daniel said both the Regional and Constituency executives of the party as well as top government officials in government have refused to respond to their calls.

They are threatening to take series of actions to ensure that they are not shortchanged by the party before the 2020 election.

“I have been fighting for my members for so long but to no avail. I know there are several opportunities in government agencies like the VRA, GRIDCO, ECG and the rest, but three years on and nothing is being heard from the regional and National Executives. I’m inundated with several concerns from my members and I cannot bear it anymore that’s why we are coming out to make our grievances known to the government.”

They’re also livid for being sidelined from the ongoing AFCON as their other counterparts have been flown to Egypt to support the Black Stars.

“On this issue we went to the MCE to seek answers why we were not included and he told us  the Orphan constituencies were not given a slot. So we want to ask why we are being sidelined anytime there is an opportunity somewhere,” Tetteh questioned.

The group is demanding their pound of flesh as a group that worked tirelessly to bring the party to power notwithstanding the fact that vigilante groups have been disbanded.
