Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo and IMANI Africa Franklin Cudjoe are expected to deliver lectures  on the recent banking crises that has befallen the country.
The event being organised by the Policy Analysis and Monitoring Centre (PAMC) on Tuesday will have the experts take turns to highlight the roles played by stakeholders and managers which contribute to the crises.

According to the convener, Miss Annette Enyo Deckor, Tuesday's event at the Mensvic Hotel "will be the first in 2018 organized by the policy think tank as part of their core mandate to serve as an auxiliary education source in educating the Ghanaian on the recent banking crisis".

The BoG, on August 1, 2018, revoked the licences of five badly performing banks and created the Consolidated Bank as the receiver to manage the assets of the five collapsed banks.

UniBank Ghana, the Royal Bank, the Beige Bank, the Sovereign Bank and the Construction Bank had their licences revoked.

It came months after the central bank rolled out measures to strengthen the financial industry in the country, leading to the collapse of the UT and the Capital banks.

The situation has precipitated accusations and counter accusations between the ruling NPP and the NDC and it will be an opportunity for Bolgatanga Central MP to shed more light on their position.

President of policy think tank, IMANI Africa, Franklin Cudjoe, on the other hand, has slammed a supposed closed-door probe by Parliament’s Finance Committee, saying it is "an insulting way of getting to the bottom of the matter".

Some Ghanaians have however called for sanctions against persons behind the collapse of the banks following government's  move to  issue about GHc8 billion in bonds to defray the debt left behind at the expense of the taxpayer.
