Sixty-five-year old suspect Alhassan Abubakar in the alleged sodomy of three minors aged 10,13, and 15 in Bimbila in the Nanumba-North district of the Northern Region will appear before the Yendi Circuit Court Thursday 22 December, 2016.

Alhassan Abubakar, a Fulani who has been sojourning in Bimbila for over a decade, has been charged with defilement for having anal sex with the three minors who reside with him in his Dangbe residence in Bimbila.

Police intelligence led to his arrest on Friday December 16, 2016 where five additional boys were found who confirmed living there and running errand for the suspect.

Two out of the three victims who are still on admission at the Bimbila Hospital are responding to treatment, according to the medical doctor in charge of the facility, Dr Paul Ayimbila.

The three are all students of an Islamic school established by the suspect Alhassan Abubakar at his residence.

3news.com gathered that Alhassan Abubakar who had  fled the area some years ago after he was exposed  by Anas  Aremeyaw Anas for child trafficking, returned to the area and got two minors whom he brought from unknown area pregnant.

The Nanumba-North Police Commander ASP Ben Aniah noted that the command heard rumours about his conduct but had no evidence against him, which made it impossible to arrest him until the alleged sodomy.

Meanwhile, the Association of Islamic Teachers in the Nanumba-North district has disassociated itself from the suspect, noting it would have forcefully ejected him from his residence if it had the powers.

The group is praying for total justice for the victims as it entreats the police and the court to do due diligence on the case.
