Hull City manager Shota Arveladze says that the penalty awarded his side after an apparent foul on Ghanaian striker Benjamin Tetteh was the right call.

He says that his striker was about a yard to goal and had no reason to go down for a penalty instead of scoring.

The striker was a second-half substitute and was awarded a penalty albeit controversial five minutes after he came on when the referee adjudged he had been fouled inside the penalty box after Coyle's cross from the right left Bristol City's defence in a state of unease.

It was a controversial call, but the Turk - who signed from Fenerbahce this summer - took his chance to draw Hull level.

"I believe Benjamin [Tetteh] had the time to really make a goal so I should not think why would he go down, they didn't break his leg but probably they touched him enough to get this penalty. It was a yard away, one-and-a half yards away from the goal.

"I don't want to say it's 100%, but it's a penalty which was almost a goal so he would not go down, that's what I want to believe."

The Ghanaian joined the Championship side from Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor this summer.
