Looks like Berla Mundi is not happy with the Majority Leader, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu following his decision to showcase his birthday cake inscribed 'E-Levy'.

The E-Levy cake has generated public uproar particularly on social media with many indicating the act was an insult to the ordinary Ghanaian.

Registering her displeasure on the move, Ms Mundi thoroughly criticized Kyei Mensah-Bonsuh. To her, the Majority Leader should have been a bit perturbed about the poor citizens.

"...You are asking us and literally shoving it down on our throats that we have to pay E-levy. The least you can do is to try and be a bit concerned about the regular Ghanaian," she fired on live TV.

She equally expressed disappointment in the NPP bigwigs who were present at the celebration, including the Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. She said such an insensitive move should not have been condoned at all.

"I am honestly disappointed. I am disappointed because a lot of Ghanaians are complaining. You don't do this, it's insensitive, you don't" she berated.

She revealed she got heart broken when she spotted the pictures and the video of the cutting of the controversial cake.

"...But to actually have an E-Levy cake there and to smile and cut it, I am disappointed. When I saw it I was heartbroken. So does it mean then, that these people who were there really don't care about the objections that have been raised about the E-Levy, and for them, come what may we're going to pass the E-Levy, and we are cutting a cake to show you that this is our stands and we're sticking to it. It was wrong, on every level it was wrong," she avered.

Meanwhile the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Members of the Coalition of Concerned Ghanaians (CCG) hits the streets today, Thursday, February 10, 2022, with "Yentua Demo" to register their displeasure about the possible introduction of the E-Levy.
