Former Ghana Football Association Chairman, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe says that Black Stars captain Andre Ayew should not be benched under no circumstance.

There have been deafening calls from a cross-section of Ghanaian football fans and pundits alike to bench the Al Sadd captain who is in the twilight of his career.

Many have called for Andre Ayew to be benched in favour of Freiburg sensation Daniel Kofi Kyereh who plays in the German Bundesliga and is on form.

But the often controversial Nyaho Tamakloe thinks it will be totally wrong to bench Andre Ayew for the Black Stars.

"It is totally wrong to bench the captain of the Black Stars. Totally wrong," he told Accra-based Angel TV.

"Andre Ayew is a very good footballer and has done enough for the team.

"I think we rather have to encourage him and let him play a key part in Qatar," he added.

The former Swansea City ace will captain Ghana to its fourth World Cup in Qatar which starts on November 20 - December 18.

Ghana is in group G alongside Portugal, Korea and Ueuguay.
