Monday January 1, 2018 has been officially declared as Statutory public holiday by the Government.
According to a statement signed by the Interior Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery, the day which marks the NEW YEAR DAY is a Statutory holiday and as such must be observed throughout the country.

DECLARATION OF MONDAY, JANUARY 1, 2018 AS A PUBLIC HOLIDAY
The General Public is hereby reminded that Monday, January 1, 2018 which marks NEW YEAR DAY, is a Statutory Public Holidays and should be observed as such throughout the country.
