Jeff Mensah has extended his stay with his Danish side Viborg FF after the expiration of his initial contract.

The Viborg born Ghanaian midfielder has been locked in talks with his local club for some time but has now reached an agreement with them penning a two year contract.

Mensah has been an integral component of the team ever since re-signing for them in 2018.

After signing the contract extension an obviously delighted Mensah hopes to help his side gain promotion into the elite division.

Since joining his boyhood club Mensah has made a total of 160 appearances while scoring 12 goals.

"It has not been a pretty difficult decision for me to extend here. There are always some considerations about the future when you are close to contract expiration, but I am happy to be here, and feel good both on and off the field," he told Vff.dk

"l know the club inside and out, and have got a good role here both on the field, but also outside, where I also have to take some responsibility in relation to the young players in the squad. I think we are doing something good, and of course I would also like to be a part of that in the future, where we will hopefully also play the Superliga again, it sounds from Mensah."

Viborg FF sporting director Jesper Fredberg said, "We are really happy for Jeff, who is a well-liked person of all in the club. He is a skilled player who works hard and can cover several positions, and at the same time he is also a great asset to the social in the squad. He is a real Viborg boy with an important role both on and off the field, and we look forward to continuing the collaboration, says sports manager."

Mensah, born in Denmark to Ghanaian parents, arrived at Viborg FF from the third-tier side, Thisted FC in 2018.
