Ghanaian midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp has provided an inside look at what it's like working under the guidance of Crystal Palace's new manager, Oliver Glasner.

Since Glasner took over from veteran coach Roy Hodgson in March, the South London club has experienced a positive upturn in form, marking an impressive unbeaten run.

Schlupp's late goal against Fulham on Sunday contributed to Palace's four-match unbeaten streak, with three victories achieved during this period.

Reflecting on Glasner's approach, the former Leicester City winger emphasized the manager's focus on fitness and team cohesion.

"It was definitely heavy on fitness," Schlupp shared with CPFC. "It was hot, and it was tough, touch work. But it was all good work, and stuff that we needed to do. We worked on tactics.

There was obviously some team bonding as well. Everyone got to know each other more with the new staff."

The training sessions under Glasner have incorporated various team-building exercises aimed at enhancing communication and unity among the players.

One such activity involved players forming a circle, holding hands, and moving as a single unit, emphasizing the importance of coordination and teamwork.

"We had everyone in a band, five people within a circle holding hands and trying to move as one unit. Even just keeping the ball up, running in a circle and being connected.

It’s sort of game tactics, but also making it fun and a warm-up drill. Communicating and trying to move as one. It was a bit of fun, but it was trying to work together," Schlupp explained.

Furthermore, Schlupp highlighted Glasner's emphasis on unity and collective effort, especially during challenging periods.

The manager's focus on team cohesion and mutual support has resonated with the players, resulting in heightened fitness levels and work ethic.

"We’ve been going through a tough spell, so something that is very important to him is everyone being together, working for each other and helping each other," Schlupp stated.

"We’ve taken it on board. Everyone has upped it to a whole other level, fitness-wise and work-rate-wise, and I think it will show in the games. It’s definitely stuff we needed to do."

Schlupp's insights shed light on Glasner's holistic approach to coaching, which prioritizes not only tactical preparation but also fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and teamwork among the players.

As Palace continues to progress under Glasner's guidance, the unity and collective spirit instilled during training sessions are expected to play a crucial role in the team's success on the pitch.
