The Executive Council has announced the appointment of Joe Nana Adarkwa as the new coach of the female U-17 national team, the Black Maidens.

Adarkwa, who currently serves as the head coach of Ampem Darkoa Ladies and holds the position of assistant coach with the Black Princesses, will succeed Baba Nuhu in this role.

Adarkwa brings a distinguished track record to his new position, having led Ampem Darkoa Ladies to back-to-back Women’s Premier League titles in 2022 and 2023.

Under his guidance, the team also clinched the Women’s FA Cup and secured Gold at the WAFU Women's Champions League.

Additionally, they achieved a commendable 4th place finish in the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League in Cote D'Ivoire.

Joining Adarkwa in his coaching staff will be Basiru-Deen Sumani, the head coach of Northern Ladies, who will serve as his assistant.

Former Asante Kotoko and Ghana goalkeeper Osei Boateng will take on the role of goalkeepers’ trainer, bringing a wealth of experience to the team.

With this strong coaching lineup, the Black Maidens aim to build on their past successes and continue their pursuit of excellence on the international stage.
