Former Black Stars center-back, John Boye, has urged fans of Turkish giants Besiktas to be patient and give Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey time to settle into the Turkish Super Lig. Amartey joined Besiktas during the summer transfer window after departing English club Leicester City.

However, his early stint in Turkey has been marred by injuries, limiting him to only six appearances in the league.

Boye, who had a successful spell in Turkey playing for Kayseri Erciyesspor and Sivasspor, expressed confidence that Amartey would acclimate to Turkish football given time.

In an interview with Spor Arena, Boye said, "Daniel Amartey, I think he is a good actor and a good person. I know it. I think he will get used to Turkish football."

Boye highlighted the different styles of football players in Turkey and emphasized the importance of players demonstrating their commitment on the field.

Drawing from his own experience, Boye stated, "When you play in Turkey, you have to show them that you kill yourself on the field."

Boye, who was beloved by fans during his time in Turkey, believes that Amartey, with his talent and capabilities, needs to be given time to adjust.

He expressed optimism that fans will eventually warm up to Amartey's contributions, stating, "If they just have a little patience, everything will be better for Amartey."

Currently sidelined due to an injury sustained during the World Cup qualifier against Madagascar, Amartey's journey with Besiktas is expected to gain momentum once he returns to full fitness.
