Ghanaian defender John Boye rescued a point for his side FC Metz against OGC Nice in their French Ligue 1 game on Saturday at the Stade Saint Symphorien.

The home side started on the wrong foot as just around the 18th minute mark Amine Gouri put the visitors in front from the penalty spot after a foul in the box.

It was a very difficult game for the home side who were a goal down and were pressing to get at least a draw in the game.

With 12 minutes to time the home side Metz had a corner kick and the corner resulted in a goal mouth melee which John Boye reacted the quickest by prodding home to salvage a draw for his side.

Its the first goal of the season for the 33 year old defender who has been an ever present in the Metz side this season making 17 appearances for his side.

Metz are currently lying 12th on the French Ligue 1 table with 25 points from 19 matches so far.
