Jordan Ayew showcased his playmaking prowess, delivering his seventh assist of the campaign as Crystal Palace secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over Newcastle United at Selhurst Park.

The Ghanaian forward orchestrated the opening goal, deftly setting up Jean-Philippe Mateta with a precise one-two pass. Mateta capitalized on the opportunity, finding the back of the net just ten minutes into the second half.

Returning to the starting lineup after a cameo appearance in the previous match against West Ham, Ayew paired effectively with Mateta in Palace's attacking unit.

His contributions extended beyond setting up goals, as he displayed commendable effort both in offensive and defensive phases to ensure the Eagles claimed maximum points at home.

With just two minutes remaining, Mateta sealed Palace's victory with his second goal of the game, courtesy of an assist from Will Hughes.

Ayew was substituted for Michael Olise in the 73rd minute, while fellow Ghanaian Jeffrey Schlupp entered the fray in the closing minutes, replacing Eberechi Eze.

Having now amassed 11 goal contributions this season, including four goals and seven assists, Ayew's versatility and impact have been instrumental for Palace throughout the campaign.

His adeptness in both scoring and creating opportunities underscore his significance to the team's success.
