Crystal Palace forward Jordan Ayew has achieved a remarkable milestone in his football career by surpassing his father's goal-scoring record for the Ghanaian national team, the Black Stars.

In the 3-1 victory over Liberia on Tuesday, Ayew not only contributed to securing the win but also etched his name in Ghanaian football history.

Jordan Ayew entered the game as a substitute for Ernest Nuamah in the 62nd minute and made an immediate impact by scoring a crucial goal in the 82nd minute.

This goal propelled him past his father, Abedi Pele, in the all-time goal-scoring chart for the Black Stars.

Ayew now boasts a tally of 20 goals for the national team, which stands as a testament to his skill, dedication, and contribution on the field. Abedi Pele, the legendary Ghanaian footballer, concluded his illustrious international career with 19 goals.

While Ayew's achievement is remarkable, Asamoah Gyan still holds the record for the most goals scored for Ghana, with an impressive 51 goals in 109 appearances before retiring from active football.

In addition to his goal-scoring milestone, Jordan Ayew also climbed the ranks in terms of appearances for the Black Stars, making him Ghana's fourth-most capped player following his substitute appearance in the victory over Liberia.

This accomplishment reflects his enduring commitment to representing his country at the highest level of international football.
