Jordan Ayew's blistering form this season for English top flight side Crystal Palace could force team mate Christian Benteke out of the club in January.

The Ghanaian international forward has has been the preferred first choice for Roy Hodgson's side and has duly repaid the manager's faith with superb displays.

His performances has left Belgian forward Christian Benteke to limited opportunities this season.

Benteke has been displaced in manager Roy Hodgson's starting line-up by Jordan Ayew, while the former England manager is desperate to add a striker to his squad in the January window.

The striker, signed for a club record £30million fee in 2016, has scored just four goals in his last 61 appearances for the club, but was handed a contract extension last month as Palace look to protect the value of one of their highest paid players.

Those close to Benteke insist he remains settled and happy at Selhurst Park, though after starting and scoring twice for Belgium in their final Euro 2020 qualifier against Cyprus this week, the former Liverpool and Aston Villa forward said he would have to consider his future come the new year.

“Playing for your club is always different from the national team. I hope the Cyprus game will give me my confidence back and give me the chance to score for Palace," Benteke told La Derniere Heure.
