English-born Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu helped his English League One side Rotherham United reach the finals of the Papa John Cup on Wednesday evening.

The defender is finally fully fit after an injury ravaged loan spells the last few years in the English Championship from parent club Arsenal.

Osei-Tutu was on the Victoria Park pitch until the sixth minute of injury time and earned himself a 7/10 from the Yorkshire Post.

Rotherham United progressed to the Papa John's Trophy final after a nervy penalty shootout victory against a brave Hartlepool United side.

Pools twice led thanks to calm Joe Grey and Luke Molyneux finishes, but Millers striker Michael Smith powered in two trademark headers to rub out the lead.

After the game went to spot-kicks, both sides missed one apiece in the first five to take the game to sudden death.

Tom Crawford missed for Pools, and Mickel Miller slotted away to win it.

The Millers will play Sutton United in the final at Wembley on 3 April.
The 23-year-old, who joined the Gunners setup in 2015, spent most of last season on the sidelines.

Osei-Tutu spent last term on loan at Cardiff from Arsenal, but only made nine appearances.

A hamstring injury kept the Gunners talent out for most of the season.

Although Osei-Tutu returned for two games in April, he then underwent ankle surgery at the end of the campaign.

In the first half of the season, the defender joined Nottingham Forest on loan.

Sadly injuries – hamstring and ankle – hampered his progress there too.

Osei-Tutu is now with Rotherham and has played in the last six League One games.
