Jose Mourinho has lavished praise on Paul Pogba following today’s 3-0 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford -crowning the Frenchman the best midfielder in the world right now.

Despite an initial struggle against David Moyes’s side, goals from Daley Blind, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan sealed a thumping victory, and had the Red Devils manager giving the home fans a classic celebration.

However, despite failing to get onto the score-sheet, Mourinho reserved special praise for Pogba, who helped set-up Ibrahimovic’s goal, and will divide supporters with his opinion of the former Juventus man:

United have now gone 12 games without defeat, and are on a run of four consecutive wins in the Premier League, with Pogba playing a key part in the club’s mini-revival.

But is he really the best midfielder in the world right now? Is there nobody else at Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Real Madrid who tops him?
