Curvy Ghanaian actress/TV host, Joselyn Canfor Dumas, has been named alongside Nigerian comedian Bovi by the organizers of the annual  Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) as hosts of the nominee announcements.

Speaking on the milestone telecast, Channel Director, Africa Magic, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, revealed that close to 3000 entries were received across the continent.

She added that the judging panel, led by veteran filmmaker, Debbie Odutayo, painstakingly reviewed each of the entries to arrive at the final shortlist of nominees.

“We are honoured to showcase and celebrate the creative industry each year on the platform of the AMVCAs.

In the past five years, we have remained steadfast in our commitment to nurture and showcase indigenous talent from across the continent,” she said.
This year’s edition of the AMVCAs will see awards being presented in 27 categories with seven categories open to public voting and the other 20 being decided by the AMVCA panel of judges.

The full list of nominees will be published on the Africa Magic website, www.africamagic.tv and social media platforms following the reveal.

This year’s AMVCA is the sixth edition of the awards scheme organised by Multichoice.

The debut edition was held in Lagos, Nigeria in 2013 and was broadcast live in more than 50 countries.

Entries into the award ceremony are films and TV series that have been aired on Dstv channels in the previous year.

The annual AMVCA which recognises outstanding achievements in television and film, will announce this year’s nominees via a televised broadcast on all Africa Magic channels on DStv and GOtv on Saturday, June 30 at 6pm GMT.
